Technology Funding for Childcare Providers

Through the Innovation Center’s Childcare Shared Services Hub, technology funds for childcare providers/facilities are available to purchase up to $1,500 in upgrades.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be a licensed day care home, group day care or childcare center.
  • Applicants must be KDHE licensed. New facilities opening within the next six months may qualify for exceptions.
  • Applicant facilities can be either non-profit or for profit.
  • Applicant facilities must accept infants.
  • Applicants must be willing to pilot either the Brightwheel or Playground online childcare management system. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO COST TO UTILIZE BRIGHTWHEEL OR PLAYGROUND. Free subscriptions are currently available through Child Care Aware of Kansas.

“This is a great opportunity for childcare providers to see if an online childcare management system would be beneficial to their childcare business,” said Innovation Center Childcare Program Specialist, Dana Stanton. “There is no requirement to implement all components of the system, but most providers are going to find at least one feature that will be helpful to their business.”

You can use the funds for various technology needs, such as laptops, tablets, printers, and even internet access.

“This initiative is a win-win for providers,” said Stanton. “They will not only get free access to administrative tools, but free technology to pilot those tools.”
