Northwest Kansas is seeing a boost in its job market thanks to recent updates to ConnectNWK. The platform is tackling significant local employment issues—such as job availability, awareness of openings, housing, and childcares by offering a streamlined and effective job board.
In response to feedback from employers and job seekers, ConnectNWK has implemented new measures to improve the quality of job listings. This includes filtering out low-paying or opportunistic jobs, ensuring that only the most relevant opportunities are highlighted.
“We are focused on bridging the gap between job seekers and employers,” says Calan Landreth, Workforce Program Specialist at the Innovation Center. “Our recent upgrades are designed to make it easier for people to find meaningful employment and for companies to discover the right talent.”
Looking ahead, ConnectNWK has set ambitious goals for the coming years:
- Place 500 more people in jobs through its workforce programs by September 15, 2027.
- Add 150 new job listings annually through the Workforce Recruitment Incentive, benefiting both established businesses and new startups.
- Expand job placements across all 26 counties in the region.
Employers have praised the platform for enhancing job seeker visibility and streamlining the hiring process. ConnectNWK drives economic growth in Northwest Kansas with job board and incentive programs, playing a key role in regional development.
