EICI Partners with Rural & Remote, Phillips County Community Foundation to Host Remote Working Informational Workshop

Opportunities to learn about remote work just keep coming, thanks to the consistent and well-organized efforts put forth by local organizations.

The next great opportunity for in-person learning about remote work is upcoming on Thursday, February 24, as NWKEICI is partnering with Rural & Remote and the Phillips County Community Foundation to host a workshop for the individuals to learn more about remote work and if it may be an option for them.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 24, from 9am – 12pm in the E-Center, which is located inside the Fischer Building in Phillipsburg. This time includes an optional hour of a hands-on session.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the workshop, especially those interested in evaluating if remote work could be a good fit for them or someone they know. Individuals attending the workshop can expect to find information to help them begin the process of finding a remote job.

Gretchin Staples, NWKS program coordinator, explained more about the workshop, citing it as “A way for the community to learn about remote working and evaluate if they qualify, meet those already working remotely, preview our program and get questions answered.”

Staples plays an instrumental role in Rural & Remote and has great enthusiasm, adding, “The purpose of the workshop is to recruit great candidates for our program!”

Morris Engle, Executive Director of the Phillips County Community Foundation, would like to encourage all to attend in order to explore what remote work is all about and also to be introduced to the Rural & Remote program.

Engle spoke to the benefits of remote work. “You can have a career in your chosen field, but generally you have your no-commute convenience of working from home, pretty good salary ranges, and you can work for a company that isn’t located in your own town,” he stated.

Engle does ask that those planning on attending the workshop would pre-register, either by emailing pccf@ruratel.net or calling 785-540-4110. There will be light refreshments provided at the workshop.

The Fischer Building is located at 205 F. Street in Phillipsburg.
