Gone are the days of aimless Internet searches, sifting through “help wanted” ads, and general confusion about who is hiring, how to apply, and what step to take next in your quest to find employment.
Connect NWK, a program of NWKEICI, or Northwest Kansas Economic Innovation Center, has made the job search in Northwest Kansas more streamlined and accessible than ever before, thanks in large part to the Connect NWK Job Board.
The Job Board serves those who are searching for part time, full time, freelance, remote, or even temporary work. There are currently 287 jobs posted, representing a total of 165 different companies. All of these jobs are located in the 26 counties served by EICI.
While the Job Board serves those searching for employment, its use doesn’t stop there. It also serves businesses and companies who are looking to hire, as businesses can post all vacant job positions that are in need of filling.
According to Stuart Schmidt, who has played an instrumental role in developing the ease of use of the Job Board, “The Connect NWK Job Board is a great resource for individuals looking for work and hoping to live in one of the counties served by EICI, as well as for companies or business in Northwest Kansas who have open job positions to fill. We have heard positive feedback from many of the businesses who have postings on our Job Board, as well as positive feedback from individuals who have found the Job Board to be a great resource for them.”
The 165 company representation on the Job Board means that there is truly something for everyone, regardless of the type of job they are looking for. “With a range of vibrant businesses, industries and agriculture to keep the economy humming, we’re here to help working professionals chase their dreams, finding the perfect balance of career and convenience on the High Plains,” explains the Connect NWK website.
As previously stated, all 287 job positions are located in the 26 counties served by EICI, in order to further serve Connect NWK’s mission of attracting, training, and retaining individuals.
“Northwest Kansas has a lot to offer its inhabitants,” commented Schmidt. “We want it to be as easy as possible for people to find work and jobs they love so they have the opportunity to see the benefit of living here, of putting roots down here.”
The Job Board lists information about available positions including business name, job description, and type of job. Website users can easily filter their search with just the click of a mouse to get exactly what they are looking for.
The user-friendly interface makes it easier than ever to not only find the available job position, but to actually apply. Each job description comes complete with a live button appropriately named “Apply for Job”, and clicking that button takes the user directly to a form to do just that.
“Ease of use for both the employer and the consumer – that was our goal,” stated Schmidt. “We hope to see the Job Board continue to gain traction and we hope that it will become a go-to resource for many.”
If you would like to browse open positions or post a job on the Connect NWK Job Board, simply visit www.connectnwk.org. There are several ways to access the Job Board through the homepage.
Schmidt encouraged anyone on the job hunt to check out the Job Board. “All the hard work is done for you,” he says. “The positions are there, they are ready. All you have to do is take a little time to browse, and we think you will find what you are looking for – maybe even something you didn’t know you were looking for.”
